Mojang หรือทีมพัฒนาเกม Minecraft ได้ประกาศว่าบริษัทตัดสินใจรีแบรนด์ใหม่จากเดิมมีชื่อว่า "Mojang" กลายเป็น "Mojang Studios" พร้อมกับเผยโฉมโลโก้ใหม่ หลังจากทีมพัฒนาเกมมีการขยายเติบโตจากทีมงานอินดี้ขนาดเล็กเป็นทีมพัฒนาเกมขนาดใหญ่ จนบริษัทมีหลายสาขาในประเทศสวีเดน, สหรัฐอเมริกา, อังกฤษ, แคนาดา และญี่ปุ่น

นอกจากนี้ Mojang Studios กล่าวในแถลงการณ์ว่าทีมงานกำลัง "คิดค้นไอเดียสำหรับเกมใหม่" อีกด้วย หรือหมายความว่าในอนาคตบริษัทอาจมีแผนพัฒนาเกมใหม่ที่นอกเหนือจากแฟรนไชส์ Minecraft ก็เป็นไปได้
